Immigration interviews can move quickly. A well-organized document packet helps the applicant answer questions accurately and find supporting records without stress. Requirements vary by case type, notice language, and agency instructions, so always start with the official interview notice.
Build the packet around the application
- Government-issued identification and interview notice.
- Copies of every filed form and receipt notice.
- Civil documents such as birth, marriage, divorce, or adoption records.
- Certified translations when documents are not in English.
- Updated evidence for employment, relationship, residence, or financial support.
Label sections clearly and keep copies separate from originals. If something has changed since the original filing, such as a new address, job, child, or marital status, prepare the relevant documents and be ready to explain the update honestly.
